TAG HEBREW SCHOOL

GUIDELINES FOR TEACHERS
1. While the central objective of any school is to convey knowledge, our school is defined by its quest to provide the kids with a warm connection to Judaism as well as exciting Jewish memories that will last a life time. This means that in our school the general attitude and demeanor of the teachers is as important as their ability to teach. Therefore, the teachers will endeavor to constantly display a contagious level of enthusiasm for Judaism and love for their fellow Jews.
2. In terms of the pedagogical approach great attention should be paid to the individual without jeopardizing the ability of the group to learn. This implies that all questions should be welcome and addressed appropriately. This also means that all concerns should be anticipated and considered in a timely and effective manner.
3. In terms of the class preparation, lesson plans should be made in advance for each class. Lesson plans should consider the topics to be covered, how, and for how long. Brief comments should be appended to each lesson plan after each class reflecting any relevant thoughts about the actual class delivery [what worked and what did not].
4. The teachers are greatly encourage to provide any feedback that will improve the school ability to provide the best possible programs to our students. This includes suggestions on how to improve our current programs, new exciting programs, purchase of books, supplies, or equipment, etc.
